My Year of Judy Niemeyer Obsession - Quilt #2

Pieced April 3, 2001 through May 23, 2011

This was quilt #2 completed in my Year of Judy Niemeyer Obsession.  I got most of it done at a Half Squares retreat in Smithville Texas.  I quilted it on June 1, 2011.

This is a great beginner paper piecing quilt because it has large pieces and straight lines. I taught this class at Fabrics Etcetera in Webster Texas.

For the border, somehow I ended up with 4 extra triangles so I pieced them into the border continuing the interior pattern. You can see this when I laid out all the pieces on the design wall. I also encroached on my neighbor's wall!

The photo below shows the triangles going into the border.

I chose an allover quilting design using varigaated thread.
